I am freelance artist specialising in figure work, and landscapes.
My prefered mediums are Oil Paints and Pencil, with a little bit of water colour thrown in for variety.
My aim is to convey the emotion and energy in the figure studies I do. I love painting musicians and dancers as they have a vibrancy and passion about them and I love the creativity of God expressed in such studies. The human form is beautiful and I love capturing the right expression to convey emotion and I love the challenge of getting into the textures of fabrics and the effects of light.
My style is increasingly expressive and less detailed than it has been, and I am developing a flavour for light and contrast and texture as well as conveying more landscapes.
I have been influenced highly by Jack Vettriano and his amazing grasp of figures and the stories he tells through his paintings. I also love the work of local Suffolk artist Raymond Leech who has a vast array of paintings showing beautiful children by the beach and dancers and Geishas. Most recently I have discovered Fabian Perez, an amazing international painter who does brilliant evocative figure studies capturing an ambience and a story with every picture.
I will take commissions after a discussion about price and subject matter.
